A native of Washington, DC, Chesney's art education was developed at the University of Iowa and the University de Michoacan, Mexico. A master of intaglio printmaking and of expressionistic color in his work, Chesney boldly asserts 'balanced chaos' in his structured prints and paintings. In his hands, viscosity etching, influenced by Stanley William Hayter, masterfully allows seductive nuances and rhythms.
