As musicians, Woelffer and his wife Dixie traveled internationally; Dixie died. Then, with friend Robert Motherwell, he ‘touched down’ in Colorado Springs to meet master printmaker Lawrence Barrett at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. At this point, Motherwell went east to New York… and Emerson went west to Los Angeles where June Wayne offered him a Tamarind Lithography Workshop scholarship.
In this collection we chart Woelffer’s travels from 1954 in Colorado to Los Angeles TLW in the 1970 and … through a series of collages in 1976.
