SPACE!

… I do not mean ‘outer space’.  I refer to the perceived space held within a composition, the implied space, the perceived ‘empty’ space that, nevertheless, is captured on the canvas, the sheet, the object.  It is the great ‘mystery’ with which my mind ‘plays’.

How do YOU feel about “Space”?

This eclectic group of ‘spacey’ compositions reveal a broad range of tools used by artists to express their ideas: some are are drawn on paper, screened on metal(!), captured with camera for transference to paper, brush and crayon…but all have the same goal: to capture SPACE on the 2 dimensional surface.
I wonder, I wander through luminous layers or am breathless by the majestic sweep of clouds in the wind, I slip through openings to …. the beyond – the mystery of SPACE!!

A number of readers of my webpage have commented on the passivity held in ‘Space’, as illustrated in the webpage…….TRUE….but, inherently, how do you feel about ‘action’ or ‘violence’ in SPACE?
Please respond to my question! I find this all very puzzling.
